The Plat
Department maintains surveys recorded in Lake County as well as the
history of property transfers in plat books, filed by section,
township, and range or by subdivision name. Section maps in the
plat books are updated each time a property boundary changes and
are maintained in both hard copy and digital form. All section maps
& surveys can be found here:
Dropbox Access. E-Recording cut-off times are as follows: Plat room documents accepted until 4:15 pm, All other documents accepted until 4:45 pm. Property boundary changes are updated on the computer by the GIS Department. Additional maps are available from the G.I.S. office. Due to the volume of assistance requests and legal issues, our office can not research property title for easements, but instead refer customers to the local abstract and title companies in Lake County. We will be happy to train the public how to use the public computer in our office for research. Local administrative boundaries are maintained digitally by the Geographical Information System (G.I.S.) Department and are available upon request.
