Lake County Planning Board

Overview of Duties Members assure the promotion of public health, safety, morals, convenience, order, and the general welfare of citizens or for the sake of efficiency and economy in the process of community development. Members prepare a master plan and serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Lake County Commissioners. Members may propose policies for subdivision plats, public ways, places, structures and utilities, issue improvement location permits on platted and unplatted lands, layout and development of public ways and services within the unincorporated portions of Lake County.

Volunteer Positions

Volunteers must reside in the area over which this board has jurisdiction. If you have questions about the area of jurisdiction or vacancies for the Lake County Planning Board, please check with Lake County Planning Department Terms begin on January 1. Positions are open until filled. Please submit a letter of interest and a completed application to Lake County Planning if interested.
