Please do not call Lake County Dispatch with your burn information, Lake County Dispatchers no longer collects information on burns.

Burn Seasons

• December 1 through  February 28: No burning due to air quality
• March 1 through April 30: Spring Open Burn Season - No permit needed
• May 1 through June 30: Burning allowed - Permit required
• July 1 through September 30: No burning due to fire danger
• October 1 through November 30: Fall Open Burn Season - No permit needed

• Off the Reservation (Rollins, Swan Lake, Bigfork and Ferndale): Visit the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) Website or 406-752-7376

Out-of-Control or Unattended Burns

Immediately report out of control or unattended burns to 911 or 406-883-7301.
